Help to save the great snipe

Foto: Marcin Lenart

Why do we ask for support?

Great snipe is not doing well. Its population is on a downward trend, and our recent estimates of 400-550 mating males are most likely understated. Formerly depleted by hunting, today it is a victim of habitat and climate changes. There is no doubt that the recent downward trends in the population are the result of human activity.

Currently, there is still a chance to reverse this trend by improving breeding habitats based on the results of research on the species ecology and the habitat conditions required by this species. However, these activities are very expensive and despite large subsidies from the LIFE Fund and the NFOŚiGW, project partners must provide 370 029 EUR or over 1.5 million PLN of their own contribution.

We have prepared for you an offer of support for the most important components of the project. In this way, your support will directly contribute to the success of the project, which aims to stop the decline of the great snipe population and ensure its existence in Poland for future generations. Thank you for your interest and we invite you to cooperation.
