European Commission LIFE Programme
The LIFE Program is the only financial instrument of the European Union devoted exclusively to co-financing projects in the field of environment and climate protection. Its main goal is to support the implementation of Community environmental law, the implementation of EU policy in this area, as well as the identification and promotion of new solutions for environmental problems, including nature. The standard co-financing of the LIFE project by the European Commission is up to 60% of the value of eligible costs, and up to 75% in the case of nature projects targeting priority species and habitats. National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW)
NFOŚiGW is a state institution whose purpose is to provide financial support to projects serving environmental protection and water management. As an institution of the public finance sector, it participates in financing projects from domestic and foreign funds: Operational Program Infrastructure and Environment (POIiŚ), LIFE Financial Instrument, the Norwegian Financial Mechanism and the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area and as part of bilateral cooperation. At present, the Fund is the largest partner in Poland of international financial institutions in co-financing foreign funds allocated for environmental protection in Poland.
